Some Latter Rain
Campmeeting 2008 can be called a success. Why a success? Was it because of big crowds? No, though the crowds were greater than our expectations. The success was because God’s people came anticipating something special from the Lord during the meeting. Our nation faces a time of uncertainty, the world is in upheaval and there are wars and rumors of war. These are all great distractions. Campmeeting 2008 was a refuge where the anointed preachers preached messages for this day and hour.
As a response to the anointed preaching of the men of God, in the midst of all the distractions of this hour, those in attendance received a fresh outpouring of the Holy Ghost! Joel prophesied it and Peter preached of that latter rain when the Lord says, “I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh”. We saw some of that promised latter at the meeting:
Sinners were saved. They opened their hearts to the convicting power of the Holy Ghost and were lead to the altar of salvation!
Backsliders had renewed their salvation experience. The Holy Ghost sanctified them anew and brought them back into the ark of safety!
The troubles and trials of this world had some bound in depression and anxiety. We saw the Free Spirit of
Psalms 51:12
break those bonds and set them free!
For some in attendance all was well, but the Holy Ghost lead them to do more for the glory of God and the furtherance of His kingdom!
With this taste of the latter rain let us go together renewed and willing to go deeper with the Lord! There are more sinners, more backsliders, more trials ahead, and more work to do. If anything can be said, it is that the message of Holiness IS for THIS day and hour. We must continue the fight, not the fight for the Alamo, but a full charge for Jesus Christ! Listen……I can hear an abundance of rain!
